Greenhouse Village

In Tungelsta in Haninge municipality, an old tradition of productive greenhouses is being revived with the planning of a new neighborhood. Greenhouses combined with housing give the residents the opportunity to grow flowers and vegetables in the same old sunny place where gardeners grew their flowers in large greenhouses 100 years ago.

Standard housing production often means that large areas of forest are felled to make way for new residential areas. We believe that nature is just as important to people as their homes and have therefore developed a concept for the careful development of houses that preserves the forest.

We use the existing situation as the starting point. A forest road that runs from the sunny location of the greenhouse village becomes the road up the mountain into the new forest hamlets. Here, the forest of the childhood remains as a place for adventurous play among trees and boulders for future generations.
