Archipelago City Entry

Archipelago City Entry transforms an abandoned and unsafe area east of Åkersberga into a new local meeting place. A restaurant with outdoor seating, an activity square and a business hub for local entrepreneurs help strengthening the local community and bring new energy to the neighbourhood.

This modern “archipelago village” is designed with priority for pedestrians in an organic and open structure. Neighbors can meet informally among fruit trees, allotment gardens and greenhouses, sharing their best cultivation tips with each other while exchanging potatoes for tomatoes.

Micro villas and lofts with 360° views diversify the range of housing in the area, which mainly consists of single-family villas. The development of the Archipelago City Entry can include what is missing in the area today, decided in participation with the local school and communities.
